TERMS OF USE

In order to ensure the safety and comfort of our guests, GUESTHOUSE KUSUSHI has established the following rules for the use of our facilities, and we ask for your cooperation.
Failure to abide by these rules may result in denial of accommodation or use of the inn’s facilities.
Please understand that the inn is not responsible for any accidents that may occur as a result of failure to abide by these rules of use.

Cancel Policy

  1. A cancellation fee (From 7days to 2days prior 50%, 1day prior and On the day 100%) will be charged 7days prior to the date of stay.
  2. For vacation rental plans, a cancellation fee (From 14days to 8days prior 30%, 7days to 3 days prior 50%, 2 day prior, 1day prior and On the day (including no-shows) 100%) will be charged 14days prior to the date of stay.
  3. Please be sure to notify us if you will be late for check-in time. If you do not show up without notice of cancellation, we will charge the full amount of the accommodation fee.
  4. Cancellation fees during the event (“Peak Season” refers to Golden Week (a week from the 29th of April to early May containing a number of Japanese public holidays), Mitarai Yagura Festival in late July, Obon (mid-August), end of the year and New Year’s holiday (December 29th – January 3rd)). Please note that cancellation fees (From 7days to 3 days prior 50%, 2 day prior, 1 day prior and On the day (including no-shows) 100%) apply if you cancel within 7 days of your reservation.
  5. Please note that some special accommodation packages will have different cancellation conditions.

※ In the event of cancellation of a reservation for which payment has been made in advance, a refund will be made to the designated account in accordance with the above cancellation policy, minus a cancellation fee (only if a cancellation fee is charged) and a bank transfer fee.

※ Please note that cancellation fees will be charged even if you cancel due to a traffic accident, traffic congestion, or illness or injury.

※ Refunds for card payments are dependent on the issuing card company used. Please contact the issuing credit card company.

About Payment

  • All payments are to be made in advance (credit card payment).
  • Acceptable credit cards are as follows. VISA, Mastercard, JCB, AMERICAN EXPRESS, Diners Club, DISCOVER Credit card information is managed by PAY.JP, "GUESTHOUSE KUSUSHI" does not keep your credit card details.
  • All accommodation fees are paid in advance. Reservations are only confirmed upon full payment of the accommodation fee. Please note that your temporary reservation will be cancelled if payment is not received in full within the specified time.
  • Payment is due on the day of application for credit card payments (PAY.JP).

Notes on Reservations

  • We accept bookings 6 months in advance. After checking availability, please contact us by via the online booking form.
  • Vacation rental plan reservations can only be made if there are no reservations for other plans on the room reservation calendar.
  • There are times when our email is sorted as "junk mail" depending on the settings of your e-mail service, e-mail software, or anti-virus software (this is especially true for users of free email services such as Gmail, Yahoo Mail, and Outlook).
  • Please check your junk mail folder or trash folder to ensure our e-mails have not been sorted into those folders. If you cannot find our automatic reply email in your spam folder or trash folder, it is possible there was a transmission error or a mistake with the email address you entered. If this is the case, please re-enter your details again and create a new reservation.
  • We operate with a small staff and are often unable to answer the phone. Please make reservations and inquiries by e-mail if at all possible.
  • We can only accept same-day bookings before 12:00.
  • You must contact us if you will be late for your prearranged check-in time. If we hear nothing from you, you might be registered as a no-show and be required to pay the 100% cancellation charge. Please also note that there will be times when we will not be able to arrange for you to stay in the room of your choice.
  • Children under 3 years of age are not allowed to use the private room. However, these restrictions do not applyif you book out the whole guesthouse.
  • Availability information changes from time to time. Due to the small number of people we operate with, in rare cases there may be a delay in changes to the reservation status calendar. We try to respond as quickly as possible, but it may take some time to confirm the information. We kindly ask for your understanding.
  • As an island guesthouse, it is difficult to fill a reservation once it has been cancelled. Please refrain from making "no-call cancellations" or "tentative reservations that include the possibility of cancellation. Please make reservations carefully.

Accommodation Precautions

  • Check in times are 16:00 to 20:00 and check-out time is by 9:30.
  • Please make sure you lock the front entrance to "GUESETHOUSE KUSUSHI" when you go out.
  • When you use the Wi-Fi at "GUESETHOUSE KUSUSHI", please refrain from playing videos, downloading large files or anything else that might slow down the network. Please note that we will not be held responsible for any damages incurred through the use of this service.
  • Please use slippers inside "GUESETHOUSE KUSUSHI". Please store your shoes in the cupboard to the left as you enter "GUESETHOUSE KUSUSHI".
  • Our inn, located in the Mitarai district, a nationally designated Important Preservation Districts for Groups of Traditional Buildings, is a wooden structure surrounded by a residential area. Consequently, smoking (including heated electronic cigarettes) is prohibited throughout the building, including guest rooms, "Bar KUSUSHI", the entrance area, and the space in front of the entrance. Furthermore, to prevent fire hazards, the use of open flames is strictly forbidden.
  • Mitarai is very quiet at night. Lights out is at 23:00 (auto turn off), however, please always refrain from speaking loudly or creating noise that might disturb the neighbors.
  • Please do not be startled by the loud town hall bell that chimes at 6:00 every morning.
  • We provide sheets for your bed, but you are responsible for making your own bed.
  • Please place used sheets in the basket by the entrance when you check out.
  • Please refrain from eating and drinking on the bed.
  • We do not provide food at "GUESETHOUSE KUSUSHI". Please either bring your own food or purchase food at one of the local restaurants or shops.
  • Feel free to drink the tea and coffee provided in the communal space.
  • Please use the trash cans located in the communal space and separate the garbage before disposal.
  • Please note that "GUESETHOUSE KUSUSHI" is not responsible for any loss due to theft or other reasons, or problems with parked cars. Please take responsibility for the safety of your valuables.
  • In the following cases, we will either charge an extra fee or prohibit you from staying at "GUESETHOUSE KUSUSHI".
    1. If you use fire.
    2. If you cause trouble for the neighbors or other guests (noise, littering, etc.)
    3. Defacing, damaging, losing, or destroying the facilities or equipment in "GUESETHOUSE KUSUSHI". For example, including but not limited to breaking a bed by jumping or misbehaving, staining the sheets or clogging the toilet.
    4. Bringing to KUSUSHI animals such as dogs, cats, birds, or pets in general (excluding guide dogs and service dogs), explosives and volatile oils that can easily ignite or catch fire, strong-smelling items or illegal items.
    5. If you use more bedding or sheets than provided without permission.
    6. If you falsely declare the number of people in your reservation.
    7. Any other cases "GUESETHOUSE KUSUSHI" deems inappropriate from a socially acceptable standpoint.
